My brother in law started a gofundme for some of his musician friends in Surakarta, Indonesia. Because of Covid restrictions they are unable to perform and are literally unable to feed their families. The gofundme is to purchase rice for their families to eat.
I was there this past March just before the lockdowns started and had lunch with one of the guys. We all had bakso which is an Indonesian soup with rice noodles and these chewy meatballs which are mostly rice flour and would likely bounce off of the floor if you dropped one. Most of us just ate the soup because it is delicious, but left the meatballs because they are not.
When the meal was over, the musician who was dining with us asked the waiter for a plastic bag so he could gather up the leftover meatballs to bring home to his family.
So, it would be great if you could help them by donating a little bit. Like the gofundme post says, just $5 will feed a family for a day. Thanks!
