Aside from Notre Dame, BYU is the most financially solid Non P-5 program in the country.

If there are fewer G-5 programs, there will be more talent available for the remaining programs.

BYU will benefit from this and has no need to affiliate with a G-5. In fact doing so may devalue them (even more than it would before) in this new theoretical environment.
