the added risk of having 80,000 fans at the stadium, but what is the added risk if there are no fans?
“It could spread to players’ friends and family members.”
That’s true whether they play football or not. In fact, it’s less likely to spread from the players given the testing protocols that would be in place. And those protocols will only be in place if they have the season.
“What about travel?”
People are traveling all the time right now. In fact, this coming weekend people will be fleeing their commie states to play a soccer tournament in my freedom-loving state. The additional travel from a football season is a drop in the bucket - especially with no fans.
“What about potential liability for the schools?”
This is a topic for another thread, but it seems like a major cop-out. The idea that playing football is going to cause someone’s death from COVID - and have it traced back to the playing of football seems incredibly far-fetched. Maybe someone can show a successful lawsuit from a similar situation, but I’m very skeptical.
Oh well. I’ll keep wearing a mask and walking the correct direction in the grocery aisles in the hope that will help us get back to normal.
