Mainly due to not everyone has an electric vehicle right now. Over time charging and power generation will get better, in line with more EVs being used. Maybe one day we won't have a off-peak hour pricing, but running out of electricity any time soon is a nonissue. It's easy to create electricity, not easy to create fossil fuels.
