Trevor Lawrence (among others) have brought up the point that players are far more safe with the season happening than being at home. But even more ludicrous are the financial and economic ramifications of not holding a season. How many athletic departments can afford to miss tens of millions of dollars of revenue that football brings in? How many jobs will be lost? What about small businesses that rely heavily on college football season to boost revenues?
It’s just pure insanity that these athletic directors are even considering shutting down the season because of a virus that will have nominal impact on these kids, a virus that they are more likely to get by going home than playing in the first place.
