Freeze-dried hash browns are available everywhere. Take a gallon ziplock to reconstitute them.
I heat up the water so it's warm (not hot), pour that into the ziplock with the hashbrowns, then let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then I fry them with the chunked-up SPAM.
Obviously you don't want to take TOO many SPAM packets due to the weight, but it's a pretty nice addition to one or two breakfasts. Here's what the packet looks like:
