BYU could potentially join CUSA or the Sun Belt and make a run at a NY6 bid
If BYU is really backed into a corner with scheduling and the AAC plays hard ball, BYU could still potentially say “screw it” and join CUSA or the Sun Belt for the season with the goal of earning a NY6 bowl bid. If I’m Tom and my schedule isn’t looking much better than one of these conference schedules, why not? In the end playing any football would be a positive thing this season.

Now the obvious issue is that Kalani doesn’t have a track record that indicates he could pull it off, but at the very least it would give BYU something tangible to play for during a season that is mostly lost for the majority of the country.
