Could be. Likely not.
The old putter was easy to miss-hit. I don’t imagine I’m any better putter now than I was with the other putter but my miss-hits with the new putter are WAY more accurate.

It’s only one round. But there were 3-4 putts I am convince I would have missed with the old putter. I’m referring to the 4-8 foot range. I saved par a couple times when I probably wouldn’t have with the other putter. I got up-and-down twice, one of which was an 8 foot putt. I birdied one hole (7 footer). My second putts were generally shorter than most last rounds. Before, when I would miss, I never really had a chance. I wouldn’t hit my intended line. But today it seemed I was hitting my intended line.

So, time will tell but it seems more than just a placebo effect.
