I also learned that when there are bogeys like fireflies all over the sky, Maverick and Viper needed to push it. It's their job.
When was the last time (maybe Korea, maybe?) that there was a jet on jet engagement that looked like the Great Marianas Turkey Shoot during the Battle of the Philippine Sea. Probably the closest you get is Robin Olds and Operation Bolo. And that was hardly MiGs like fireflies.
