2. Let the A’s move to Portland or Vegas

Then announce two expansion franchises: Austin/San Antonio and Mexico City

That brings MLB to 32 teams. Break out into two 16 team leagues.

Play 156 game regular season.

For the playoffs: if you win your division you get a bye into the divisional series. So winning the division is again a priority.

If you finish last in your division you are out.

#2 and #3 will play a wild card elimination game at the stadium of the #2 team. Eight divisions, so that’s eight all-or-nothing games to be broadcast over Fri-Sat-Sun weekend. And because it’s win or go home, each team will throw their ace, so it should be fantastic for TV.

Divisional series is 5 games. LCS and WS are 7 games.
