Look, honestly, WINNING solves everything..... If the Pac-12 won a national title, they would get a lot of respect back.... if they won 2 or 3 in row, they would be the Conference of Champions....
BUT, I don't see that happening anytime soon....
EVEN before COVID hit, PAC-12 was in trouble this year AGAIN.... Games against Ohio State probably lead to your champ starting out with a loss, and the PAC-12 is pretty balanced so you champ probably has 2 loses and no shot at the CFP again...
They keep losing coaches to other conferences ... or internally...
The decision to form 7 networks rather than one is costing them a fortune, and means the PAC-12 is behind the other major conferences in payouts. The decision to locate you offices in the most expensive real estate possible is stupid and leads to smaller payouts to the schools which leads to losing coaches to other programs. And to pay your commissioner more (alot more) than well run conferences like the ACC and SEC just makes it worse.
JUST WIN and all will be forgiven ... but a decade or more of poor decisions makes "just winning" just that much harder... and I have no confidence in them ever "just winning"
