I agree. The problem lately has been what
constitutes “settled” science. As a young attorney, I often deposed and defended the deposition of scientists serving as expert witnesses. What I learned over the years is that, generally speaking, you can find scientists who will support whatever position you are paying them to support. And you can then hire them to back the opposite view down the road. Today, I sense that a lot of “settled” science is settled only because those with power and money decree it to be settled.
