Since I am sure that I am branded a Lebron hater, here are some things I think

were either ridiculous criticisms or good things about Lebron.

  • That Lebron passed too much in big moments.  Making the right play means to pass out of a double team to an open man.
  • Lebron for all of his fame is still a good family man.  While who knows if he has ever had any missteps (I would be surprised for a star at that level not to) he is still married to his wife and he cares about his son
  • Lebron has played for every Olympic team that I can remember.  Certainly not everyone has done that.
  • Lebron gives a lot of money to charity.
  • Lebron couldn't get over the hump originally with Cleveland (while I believe much of it was self inflicted....to this day Lebron is one of the very worst GMs in all of sports) his team was never a title contender until he moved to Miami.  The '09 team was the closest and they had some good pieces, but fell victim to the Lebron gives up game.  But they were flawed.
  • Lebron was always one of the games most gifted passers.  To me he is much more Magic than Michael although certainly a cross between the two.  His ability to see the floor was evident at a very young age.
  • Lebron has always been a hard worker.  This is why he became what he did.  Even the most talent in the world (and Lebron has it) can't make you a Superstar without hard work and determination to get better.

Now I have plenty of criticisms to go along with these, but I appreciate what Lebron has given the game.  He is certainly an all-time great.  What I enjoy comparing is his him with Larry Bird.  Both were SF-PF players that were 3+ time MVPs and could have won 3+ more.  But the way they went about it was so very different.
