My wife wanted a pool because her parents had one growing up. And I'll tell you - I wanted a pool because I saw what a total family magnet my wife's parents' pool was. In the almost 30 years that we've been married, I can't tell you the hundreds of times we've all gotten together, with that pool as the centerpiece. It's a great investment, from that perspective.

On the other hand, we have a son who MAYBE gets in once a year. He has Asperger's, which makes him kind of quirky, anyway. But he just doesn't care for it, and my guess is that he probably never will.
