My ideal schedule
Week 0 Hawaii (or switch with any week 9-12 team)
Week 1 Utah (realistic placement, but moving everything up a week and playing Utah week 13/14 would be better)
Week 2 Name recognition AAC team (Cincinnati or UCF type)
Week 3 Tennessee, NC State, or Nebraska type team (middle of the pack SEC or ACC or BIG)
Week 4 PAC XII team
Week 5 Sunbelt team (Thursday/Friday night - General conference weekend)
Week 6 Boise St. or USU (homecoming if home)
Week 7 Bye
Week 8 Boise St. or USU (homecoming if home)
Week 9 UNLV/Nevada/San Jose St.
Week 10 Liberty
Week 11 Idaho St.
Week 12 MidAmerican conference team
Week 13 San Diego St.
Week 14 PAC XII team (extra game in years where our team is expected to be experienced, due to Hawaii scheduling)

If we're going to play that kind of a schedule, we may as well just join the MWC or AAC and schedule 2-3 P5 games.
