most school districts have good kindergarten and first grade teachers (teachers who are loving and enjoy being around young children). Then you see a backslide from second to fourth grades (these teachers seem to lack a loving nature or much in the way of intelligence). You then see stronger teachers in fifth and sixth grades, which is important as students begin to prepare for junior high. Once in junior high and high school, students begin to separate by academic drive and ability, with the strongest teachers assigned to these higher achievers. Again, this is a gross generalization based on my experiences alone.
