A number of their starters are diminutive (not very tall) even their interior lineman are not tall. That gives them a decided advantage on a play by play basis in two ways:
1) unintended targeting calls. BYU's players will have to tackle many players that are 5'6 to 5'10" tall. They aren't used to that. It's really important to keep focused on players hips when driving through a lead shoulder. Let's not get bogus TCs simply because the officials are hanky happy.
2) pad level blocking. Unless La Tech is fully zone blocking or backpedaling in the pocket three of them inside go, G 6'-1", C 6'-1" and G 6'-3". Getting push will require different techniques by BYU's D-Lineman. The techniques you might see used on a tall O-line like BYU's will need to be adjusted for La Techs more stout but shorter interior O-Line.
