harping on 7,000 rpms throughout the movie. It really doesn’t have the meaning the movie assigned to it. Some engines are built to rev higher, some lower. Some are built to rev much higher than 7000. You can hit a certain rpm number in every gear. I’m thinking 7,000 rpms in first gear is nowhere near as adrenaline pumping as it is in your top gear. IOW, it’s pretty much a meaningless metric by which to describe a race car’s performance.
Should have stuck with MPH. Speed is really what they were trying to imply. Harping on rpms came off as a non-car guy trying to baffle people with bull yewt.
End rant.
