Absolutely does matter. For instance, in a 12 game regular season,
if the SEC plays 8 conference games and 4 OOC games, the conference as a whole has the potential to win 84 games total. Playing an 8 game conference schedule gives the conference the potential to win 112 games total with 56 of those as near sure wins over FBS/FCS teams almost entirely played at home (minus any occasional cross-P5 conference games).

Given that ... what would look better, a win over a Vanderbilt/Arkansas team that's a 6-6 bowl eligible team or a 2-10 team without the gimme games?

Which scenario looks better for the conference?
