I read the part about him being Russ's personal quarterback coach when the article posted by the OP came out last month. After a bit of digging I couldn't find anything that described if and the extent to which Russ looks to Jake for coaching Russ. It's possible that its completely true — I think Jake was always a good fundamentals guy — or it might be an unintentional misunderstanding or mischaracterization by the author of the "Let Russ Cook" article.
Whatever Jake is doing, I'm glad he's finding success. He seems like a great guy, and notwithstanding how things went for him in Provo he's always seemed to take the high road when discussing things.
