He co-hosts a daily, 3-hour sports talk show on KIRO710. He is known on the radio show as "the guru". Because he was on the Seahawks for a couple of years - practice squad - he has knowledge of the team, coaches, the players, etc. His co-hosts and the other radio personalities defer to him and his knowledge. When he does the show you can tell he spends a bunch of time watching film, etc. He has a nice niche on the sports radio market.

Additionally - he is close friends with Russell Wilson. Jake and his family often spends lots of time with Russell and his family during the offseason. This past winter Jake and family spent a bunch of time with Russell in southern california. So they are good friends away from the field. Jake also is one of the main figures with the Russell Wilson Passing Academy.

Leading up to this season Jake was one of the leading voices for the "Let Russell Cook" mantra. I heard him many times give statistics about why Russell should be given more opportunities to pass the ball more. The hot start and statistics for this year bear out the correctness of "Let Russell Cook".

One last thing - when Jake talks about Russell on the radio up here everyone knows that Jake is almost like a spokesman for Russell. When Jake says things about Russell - people pay attention - including the Seahawks themselves. When Russell was going through his contract negotiations a couple of years ago - you could sense that Russell was using Jake on the radio to stake out his position and to reassure the fans that Russell really wanted to be with the Seahawks even though things were a bit questionable during negotiations.

Lastly, Jake and Whitney have a wonderful little family and they are great examples of the Church here. Jake - even - on his twitter feed will throw out church things on occasion.

Jake is doing great for himself. Good for him.
