It’s a good question as u could argue for both approaches.
As the benefit of pacing in such situations isn’t 100% guaranteed and your syncope can still be more of what we call a vasodepressor response.

If u go the loop route One option is to call around and see if any cardiologists implant them in the clinic setting where the facility fee might not be astronomical- this is more likely at a private practice group that’s not affiliated with the hospital.

It’s actually sickening how much hospitals charge for that.

It takes me 15 sec to implant... I get about 250 bucks which is the easiest money I make in anything I do.. but as u mentioned the hospital is getting 5-10k from insurance. It carries no risk, no time and uses minimal staff too.. it’s a total racket.

This is a study I usually cite in giving people options.. pacing can be effective about 80% of the time
