has hurt the sport by creating a cycle for the very top talent that gets concentrated at a couple of schools (Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma). Traditional power schools like Notre Dame miss the 4 team playoff and can't attract the best talent and are relegated to a lower level of competitiveness over time. I was all right with a 4 team playoff but Klatt brings up good points. Closer to home, if BYU could sneak into an 8 team playoff, it would only help recruiting and the program. At any rate, the NFL and college bball championship have more parity, and I find them more interesting than college football and its predictable 4 or 5 elite teams winning every year.
