I read wildlife experts said he did the right thing. If you turn and run it
Could see you as prey and take you down. You’re supposed to back away like he was, and make yourself look and sound big and scary as possible which I think he was trying to do...shouldn’t confront or challenge them. Getting far away from the babies as possible is prob good too before throwing something to scare it off. If it does attack you try to fight back while protecting your neck. That’s what I read from the wildlife guys.
