She should file her own taxes but you need to keep her as a dependent. Don’t let her claim it.
She will be tempted to because then she will get a huge $200 return on what was withheld. And you’ll be down a child tax credit and a deduction that will cost you thousands. Go ahead and toss her the different it would make so you don’t take the hit.
