In the 3rd quarter BYU stuck mainly with 4 man rushes, which did not have much effect at first, but clearly wore down Houston's O-Line. Finly in the 4th quarter BYU had worn down the Houston D-Line and backfield (better conditioning) while Houston tired and went the other direction.

BYU's speed and ability negated Houston's. On offense, Houston's speed was negated in the second half by Warner, Wilcox, Anderson and Udo as well as the guys playing nickle and dime. Make no mistake, BYU still lost two more 3rd and long conversions on 3 man rushes, 100% surrenders in such situations during the game (UGH). But BYU played enough Defense so that Houston surrendered 4 TDs (29 points) in a row in the last 18 minutes of the game after stretching its lead to 9 late in the 3rd quarter.
