Ah, but there’s the rub. Time management for a FG is actually much tougher.
The coaches had very little to do on the drive mentioned. The horrible defense of the opposing team was the main factor there.

Could have stopped at 23 seconds and kicked a fieldgoal to make you happy. Preferred to take 36 seconds and score a TD.
