She is Japanese. Grew up in Tokyo. After being baptized she came to Utah to go to school where she met my brother at USU.
Her English is...well...it’s improving. Give her another 20 years and I think she’ll have it.
I kid. She’s awesome.
Sometimes she gets things mixed up though. Says things that don’t make sense.
After they had their first kid she took him to the pediatrician. He was a big baby, measuring off of the charts.
The pediatrician was a lady and was going on about how big the baby was. She was joking around that my brother must have been some big football player to have a kid so large.
She asks my SIL “How big is he?”, referring to my brother.
My SIL says “he about 6 inches.”
The doctor tried to remain professional but her face went red and she got the giggles.
My SIL left the doctors office so confused.
She got home and told my brother. She was annoyed at the doctor.
She told him exactly how it had happened and what she had said.
He looks at her laughing and says “You didn’t.”
Now she’s really confused.
He says “I’m 6 feet...feet...not inches.”
And that’s when it dawned on her.
