That's what you would think would happen but what really happens
is a lot of those AP courses end up being empty credits. Same with the Dual credit courses.

Sure a student might rack up 20+ college credits but when they get to college and choose their major they discover they didn't need to take all those courses because the particular major requires a different set of courses.

It's especially bad when those courses are Dual credit courses because then those courses count towards financial aid and if a student starts taking extra courses they don't need they will lose financial aid - often in their junior and senior years. This happens a lot.

I don't recommend anyone take more than one or two Dual credit courses unless they are 100% committed to a particular major.
