because it wasn't already been produced somewhere else or in production. I thought, isn't that the idea of a pitch? To get your idea off the ground and moving? It was for a 30 minute show where each episode honors veterans of different conflicts and done in an interesting and unique way. I want to do it on my own but can't afford to give up my full time job as I need a paycheck and don't have rich parents or money lying around to allow me to just do what I want and not worry about money. I also feel very driven to do it because WWII veterans are in their 90s and dying out far too quickly, and many have never been asked the right questions to really share their stories and have them recorded for future generations.
