It is important to understand the difference between the macro level of the rankings vs the micro level of the voters.

The AP Top 25 consists of 62 voters. 11 of them (17.7%) were only including teams that had played which means they hadn’t even included B1G teams on their individual ballots. Now that the B1G will start up it means those 11 voter will include them in their rankings. Making an assumption that any higher ranked team will win their game then when we factor in the new votes I see Ohio State moving up to 3 from 5 ( gaining 254 points) and Penn State to 6 from 8 (gaining 223 points).

BYU only drops below Wisconsin if Wisconsin totally drubs Illinois and BYU barely escapes Texas St, due to the fact that Wisconsin is nearly 200 points behind BYU and will only gain about 146 points from the 11 voters. No other B1G teams will get enough votes from the 11 to affect BYU.

So BYU remains 12th unless there is an upset of one of the teams ahead of us or the above scenario with Wisconsin happens.
