the 3rd place team from the ACC for conference championship weekend? Miami could win out, and Notre Dame could win out (except to Clemson), and either of those games would be great.
Although the BIG 10 is starting late, it is also somewhat at a competitive advantage by having all of its teams playing on conference championship weekend. For example, if Ohio State somehow drops to third place and misses the championship game, it could still make the CFP by dominating the fourth place team that weekend.
So long as they are only at one loss still (or there are conference champs with two losses), I think there's a lot of incentive for the ACC third place team to play a game against an undefeated BYU team. The ACC would of course have to allow two out-of-conference games, and there are likely other things I'm missing. But still, let's get it done, Tom.
