RE: OSU, Alabama and Clemson dominating is probably good for BYU. Any of them
This is exactly right. While I admit BYU making the playoffs is a total pipe dream unless we somehow managed to schedule some better opponents (which is extremely unlikely IMHO), the best odds for BYU moving up in the rankings is to have Bama, Clemson & Ohio State roll everyone. We want every other P5 team to have 2 or more losses. If you look at the schedule, it's actually setting up very nicely for BYU and many already have 2 losses. Here's a look at P5 teams with fewer than 2 losses:

SEC:
Georgia (1 loss): They are likely the 4th best team in the country. They still have to play Florida and the winner of that game likely plays Alabama again. If they play Bama in the SEC championship and they lose again, I think they get left out of the discussion since "they already had two chances and lost both times."
Florida (1 loss): Offense is amazing but defense is suspect. If they beat Georgia and lose to Bama in the SEC championship they are in the same boat as Georgia would be, ie, "they had their chance."
Texas A&M (1 loss): Already lost to Alabama but are likely over-ranked as their offense just isn't that good. Still, their remaining schedule has no sure losses but I think they lose 1-2 times down the stretch anyway.

Big 12
Oklahoma State (no losses): Another team that is likely over-ranked. They still have to play Texas, Oklahoma and then the Big 12 championship game. They could easily lose at least twice. Every other team in the Big 12 already has 2 losses.

ACC
Notre Dame (no losses): ND has the same problem UGA has. They not only have a game against North Carolina but they also play Clemson. They might give Clemson a game but I doubt they win. Even if they lose closely they would still have to play Clemson again in the ACC championship. If they lose twice to Clemson, I again think the argument will be "you had your chances and lost twice."
North Carolina (1 loss): They have the best chance of outscoring Clemson but even then their defense probably isn't good enough for a motivated Clemson team. Besides Clemson, they still have to play Notre Dame and Miami.
Miami (1 loss): This is another team that's over-ranked. They will definitely lose at least twice more in the regular season.

Pac-12
Whoever wins this conference will likely have 1 loss or less. Since they play so few games, I could see the Pac-12 champ sneaking their way into the playoffs this season.

Big 10
Wisconsin (no losses): Although they looked good in their win Friday night, their schedule by P5 standards is pretty weak. They play Michigan in 3 weeks so that should be a good game. Should they go undefeated and lose closely to an undefeated Ohio State team in the Big 12 championship they would have a decent chance of being that 4th team. With that said, they almost always find a way to lose a game or two they shouldn't.
Michigan (no losses): I just don't see them getting past both Wisconsin and Ohio State and then winning the Big 12 championship game.
Penn St (1 loss): They will likely be eliminated next week when they play Ohio State.

TOP TEN FINAL PREDICTION (BEST CASE SCENARIO FOR BYU):
1) CLEMSON (0 LOSSES)
2) ALABAMA (0 LOSSES)
3) OHIO STATE (0-1 LOSSES)
4) OREGON (0-1 LOSSES)
5) GEORGIA (2 LOSSES - BOTH TO ALABAMA)
6) NOTRE DAME (2 LOSSES - BOTH TO CLEMSON)
7) BYU (0 LOSSES)
8) WISCONSIN (2 LOSSES - ONE REGULAR SEASON, LOSS TO OSU IN BIG 10 CHAMPIONSHIP)
9) FLORIDA (2 LOSSES - LOSS TO UGA)
10) CINCINNATTI (1 LOSS)
