It works both ways though. I saw someone selling a bike for $1150 or best offer
The bike is older and not worth much more than $700 pre-covid. I offered $900 and he replied "thanks but no" and then a few days later asked me if I was still interested...
If you don't want offers, don't say you are interested in offers.
... That bike is still for sale a month later. He's very unlikely to get even $900 for it at this point
