The top G5 conference champion is guaranteed a spot. BYU is not. So it benefits BYU if the rest of the G5 destroy each other and just one comes out clearly ahead of the rest. If that's Cinncy, great.

But BYU isn't competing with the top G5 conference champion. BYU is competing with all of the other potential at-large invitees. Primarily P5's, I'm guessing. So our hopes really are more pinned to the P5 conferences beating each other up, outside of each's top 1-2 teams.
