All Assuming BYU beats BSU - (and that's a big IF) history says the power brokers find a way to leave BYU on the roadside. Condescending to give the G5 an auto bid, I think, makes it easier for them to leave BYU out and not harder.
If BYU beats BSU, they may fall out of the top 25 - the MWC is so dogged this year, they may not climb back into the top 20 even if they win the rest of the way.
1984 - no big bowl on the way to a Natty
1996 13- nope
2001 - told no before the season was even over - and it broke Luke Staley's heart and leg.
You'd be bananas to assume things will hold steady for the rest of the season and all BYU has to do is win - it hasn't typically worked that way for BYU before - and we still have no real idea how good this team is. The national writers who are saying they are in don't make the decisions - so BYU, DON'T DRINK THE POISON.
They need another game. A quality one would help. Here are some teams with open schedules when BYU is open
