It is so much fun to watch an exciting offense move the ball and score lots of points...and watch the team move up in the weekly rankings. It just is.
I'm a major proponent of some simple scheduling philosophy adjustments to give us a better chance for earlier-season and overall win totals and higher rankings...while still maintaining a critical mass of P5 and solid G5 opponents on the schedule. I also love the idea to have most of our home games in September and early October. The weather is so much more pleasant to attend the game in LES than in November.
My simple scheduling adjustment would be to PAY Sun Belt, MAC and CUSA schools to play us in Provo and add more the early-season easier opponents.
For instance, next year, replace ASU with @Hawaii and play Georgia Southern in Provo as a one-and-done. Move @Baylor to November. We would still have 6 P5 opponents, including several in October and November.

In 2022, add Hawaii (in Week 0) and Troy games. Move Baylor up one week. Place ECU game in November. Still have four P5 opponents, including one in October and one in November.
