Basketball had one good year with a whole bunch of Seniors. I love Pope and what he has done in the off-season, but we haven't won a tournament game in years (yes that comes with a giant caveat from last year). Point is we had one good year.
In football we haven't even had that. We are coming 4 poor years of football at BYU with this head coach. Finishes that the computers rank as some of the worst in the last 50 years. Yet this is the golden age?
This year the football team has looked great, but we were losing to Houston into the 3rd quarter and they are far and away the best team we have played. Is there reason for optimism? Yes. But to call this the golden age of BYU sports? Ummmm no. Definitely not yet nor being close to being yet.
