The defense has been put into bad situations, but the addition of Darius Slay has been a big lift this year.
There have been a few defensive injuries that have hurt them a little, but it's more like average team injuries rather than the devastation they've had on offense.
Linebackers are absolute trash, but the defensive line (even with 2 guys out) is among the top in the NFL.
With a healthier offense, they'll be able to compete a little better. I know the idea is that they're absolutely trash, but they played most of a game against the Ravens with only 2 starters on offense and were only some weird PAT decisions away from at least taking them to overtime and possibly winning the game.
I don't think the game against Washington is a gimme but the other 3 division games may be if the Giants and Cowboys lose interest in winning.
I do they they can win more games outside of their division.
Again, the idea is that they're trash but they'll get healthier with an easy path to the playoffs. They won't quit.
