When we were first married, I conned my wife into looking at puppies. This is a girl that never had a single pet in her home, growing up. The first dog we ended up looking at was a beige Chinese Sharpei - a dog that affectionately became known as Pugsley in our home, for the next twelve years. (Man, how I loved that dog!) As an aside, about three months later, we ended up with an English Bulldog we named Athena. I loved her, too!

The breeder informed us that the stud had been brought in from Idaho. But she asked us if we wanted to see the bitch. My wife gave me a shocked/offended look I explained to her later - said that if we were only going to use breeders that did not use that term, we wouldn't be getting anything that was pure bred.
