This is another reason why Jarom's scheduling argument fails. In 2014 we went 3-0 against P5s and lost 5 games to G5 programs. In 2015 we went 1-4 vs P5s and beat all of the G5s, including Boise, Cincy & Houston. 2015 is almost universally considered the better season by the fan base. So success as an Independent in the fans' eyes has less to do with beating a bunch of P5s than simply playing to your potential and not losing to teams you should beat.
