I don't think Nebraska liked Texas. And OU kept siding with Texas
In the Big 8 the NU vs OU rivalry was intense but they both regarded themselves as the keepers of the conference. When the Big XII was formed Nebraska lost that rivalry due to the creation of the divisions and it turned into OU and Texas vs Nebraska.
This may make the conference TV contract negotiations pretty interesting in 2022/2023.
