The bedrock of our society, the family, has been crushed. As a country, we have not been able to withstand the onslaught against the principles that made this country great. The repercussions of this have been staggering and the slide will continue. At times, we make what we think is progress. But its more like 1 step forward, 2 steps back. I don't think it matters which party is in power, the country will continue to decline. Not only in regard to the family, but in the way we treat people, our respect for human life, our turning away from God, etc. The continued decline moves quickly when Democrats are in power, but it moves in the same direction when Republicans are in power - just at a slower rate.

In my opinion the script has already been written and it's just a matter of time before before it gets so bad that we will pray more fervently for the return of the Savior. But I do find a lot of ton of Joy in my own individual life with my family, church family, and the things I can control. But the big picture outside my little bubble is becoming more difficult to navigate. I keep trying to make a positive influence on the big picture, but it sure seems harder. But I'm going to keep trying the best I can to make a difference even if I feel the continued decline is inevitable. It's all I can do.
