This link you included is an official church statement that links to a New Era article. Interesting that the church's official statement points to an unofficial source. I don't see who wrote the article. I don't interpret a New Era article as strict doctrine. There is lot's of good direction given by church officials - but it doesn't make it doctrine (i.e. see Mormon Doctrine and several talks by Elder Packer). I don't promote open use of any substance, but I have never seen a direct statement from the church that prohibits GREEN Tea. If you have a link pass it on. I only have seen specific restrictions against coffee and tea in general. Back in 2012 is when the church clarified that the WOW specifically relates to coffee and tea (not soda - to the relief of all 30+ mormon moms). If tea, in all of its forms, is restricted then my wife has a lot to answer for.
