In THAT scenario the media would be losing their minds - demanding Jackson get his shot. The narrative would be (if Fitzpatrick threw a million picks like Winston)... ‘we know what he can do... and it’s throw a ton of picks’... ‘Jackson is the better athlete - he’s more dynamic, he brings a spark, he might be elite’.. on and on. Media would be pumped and all in.

Bottom line is this... race is absolutely in play here with the take many have. Media talking heads were losing their minds this week. Never would have been so in the reverse scenario I described - they would have praised Payton as a genius for seeing what he has in a duel threat freak athlete type.

Experience argument is garbage. Winston blows. Who cares if you throw for 400 yards a game when you also throw 4 picks - can’t win like that.

Maybe Taysom foils his shot and doesn’t prove to be an NFL QB... but getting his shot is deserved. Winston simply isn’t a good NFL QB; Saints have nothing to lose.
