coach had to work with.
David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu , kawhi Leonard were Popovich’s “system”. Popovich made a lot of money and gained a lot of notoriety from having great talent and it being well distributed on those old teams. How’s his talent errr I mean “system” now?
Steve Kerr built an amazing “system” when the Warriors were untouchable but after a few key injuries and trades the “system” isn’t the same anymore for the Warriors.
The best example is Bill Belichick. Widely regarded as the GOAT coach and as soon as a certain player is gone his “system” is no longer special.
Bottom line, if Taysom shines it will be because Taysom has the tools and skill set — period. If he struggles to make it happen after 2-3 games then it will likely indicate that he doesn’t have the tools to be a full time NFL QB. It won’t have anything to do with “systems” or who’s jock he’s been sniffing. Players can ball or they can’t, there is no magic involved.
