I'm mostly with you, but my wife on the other hand really enjoys the pie-baking ritual the night before and the general cooking with her family camaraderie. It's more about the journey than the destination for some. We try to put out a decent spread, but fortunately, there is not much stress about it in our family. but I can see that some take it too seriously, trying to make things perfect. That does not sound very nice at all.
