Takes some of the ammo out of the committee’s SOS gun. That’s the biggest factor.
Having the 7th P5 school cancel on us, including after BYU made concessions on a very one sided arrangement, hurts their schedule position. It also makes the national media line up defending BYU and mocking the PAC-12.
It was a mistake to not immediately agree. We were talking about Utah last week. The odds of the ASU game was always low. BYU had the chance to call the P5 bluff and didn’t do it.
