The fact remains that a Washington game would have required BYU to travel to Washington (hotels, charter flights, equipment trucks, etc) with a high likelihood of the game being cancelled. It’s one thing for a game to be cancelled due to COVID. It’s another to have your game cancelled because the other team got another offer. And Tom already has a $20 million budget shortfall.

I don’t know if Tom offered, but it would have made perfect sense for UW to travel here and be ready to play either BYU or Utah.

I hope Tom didn’t hold out for a return game or something like that. Or, maybe we didn’t want to play UW based on the past two years results?
