Few has done a truly remarkable job, & shows ZERO signs of slowing down. Pope will have to max out BYU's resources --& his own resourcefulness-- to keep up with Few. People may look at our recruiting effort this offseason & say we simply got left in the dust — but I think Pope's signings have a great party-crashing mix to them. We brought in some very strong role-specific individuals, & some very strong mismatch individuals.

But I'll also admit that losing a mismatch piece the caliber of Baxter would be a big blow in our effort of stealing a game or two from the Zags this season. When your Frosh PG opens his career by being on the non-assist end of an alley-oop --that's beyond scary even if the competition isn't freaking Kansas. They are so incredibly talented & polished this season it's just crazy. For us to stand a chance against them we'd have to somehow force them outa their game plan entirely. Guys like Haarms, Lohner & George would be invaluable in a gargantuan task of that kind. But I think Gavin might be our most valuable piece of all.
